It was founded in 2009 by Jack Dorsey, who is also the co-founder of Twitter. Square's mission is to democratize access to financial services and empower small businesses to thrive.

The company offers a variety of products and services, including payment processing, point-of-sale (POS) systems, financial and marketing services, and hardware such as card readers and terminals. Its flagship product is the Square Reader, a small device that allows businesses to accept credit and debit card payments using a mobile phone or tablet.

In addition to payment processing, Square offers a range of software tools and services to help businesses manage their operations, including inventory management, employee management, and customer engagement. Square's ecosystem also includes a lending program called Square Capital, which provides small business loans, and Cash App, a peer-to-peer payment app that allows individuals to send and receive money.

How I Helped:

Research and Analysis:

  • Conducted research on the target audience's needs, preferences, and pain points related to customer service.
  • Analyzed Square's existing customer service products and identified areas for improvement.
  • Developed user personas and user journey maps to guide the design process.

Conceptualization:

  • Brainstormed and ideated potential solutions for improving Square's customer service products.
  • Created wireframes and mockups of the proposed solutions using Adobe XD.
  • Used design thinking and iterative prototyping to refine the solutions based on feedback from stakeholders and users.

Design and Development:

  • Finalized the design of the customer service product overview prototype, including layout, typography, and visuals.
  • Developed interactive features using Adobe XD, such as clickable buttons, dropdown menus, and animations.
  • Conducted user testing to ensure the prototype was user-friendly, intuitive, and effective.

Evaluation and Iteration:

  • Evaluated the prototype's effectiveness in addressing the target audience's needs and meeting business goals.
  • Gathered feedback from stakeholders and users on the prototype's strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Used feedback to iterate and refine the prototype, making changes based on user needs and business requirements.
